Born in Peterborough, where she has lived all her life, Alison, or Ali as she prefers to be called, started out working for the local authority before working for an international office products manufacturing company where she went on to become the site HR &, latterly, Health & Safety Manager. Ali is professionally qualified to postgraduate level in both Human Resources and Health and Safety Management and is a chartered member of both professional bodies.

In May 2008, Ali set up her own HR and H&S consultancy. When she started out her mission was: “setting my own standards to provide an exceptional customer service by listening to and working with clients to help them achieve their business goals and objectives”. This remains important to her irrespective of the client or sector in which she has worked.

Ali undertakes a variety of voluntary work where she has been a deputy director of Peterborough Samaritans as well as PR officer, campaign manager, and chair of fundraising groups. One of the fundraising groups raised over £11,000 for a local charity.

With her wide range of skills and experience, Ali has joined AA Chartered Accountants where she is bringing her project management skills to bear to support the marketing function within the business. Ali says that her objective is to “dispel the myth that accountants only ‘balance the books’ and to highlight the important work AA Accountants undertakes in supporting clients to transform their lives by identifying their goals and to help them explore ways in order to improve their profitability and secure their wealth – because that is what AA Accountants is all about”.

On the personal front, Ali enjoys walking their lovely black Labrador, Dora. Ali also enjoys cooking and spending time with friends.
